Disabled Pilot Program

Mike Smith Pacific Crest Aviation, Inc specializes in the rehabilitation of disabled pilots. Our aircraft are equipped with hand controls for easy maneuverability.
Dwight Leiss Dwight broke his back at 17 in a dirt bike accident. He received his private pilot after injury and has gotten his instrument, commercial, and CFI rating thru Pacific Crest Aviation, Inc. He is now a full time flight instructor here in Big Bear teaching able and disable people in our Cherokee 180 fitted with hand controls. He also does all our scenic tours of Big Bear. He will also be researching and communicating with the FAA about hand controls and can help with any questions you may have.
