Getting Started We recommend that you obtain a medical certificate prior to flight training. The local flight school in your area should be able to give you information on a local flight physician in your area to get you started. The FAA will require a review of your medical records before issuing a medical. This process could take up to three months or longer.

You will also need to check into accommodations (housing, car rentals, etc.), if the flight training is not in your area. Just remember that learning to fly can be an exciting, regarding and sometimes frustrating time for everyone, but the rewards are remarkable.
